- Report to and communicate directly with Aquatics Lead
- Be correctly dressed in British Swim School uniform and prepared poolside at least 15 minutes before the start of your first lesson
- Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School training manual and as directed by the Aquatics Lead
- Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/coaching as requested by Aquatics Lead
- Work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends as required by business needs and as requested by management
- Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Lead/Owner
- Enthusiastic, assertive personality with strong relationship and customer service skills
- Effectively communicate with children, customers and employees
- Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures as well as follow policies, teaching methods and procedures of British Swim School
- Ability to demonstrate swim strokes appropriately
- Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid (current preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
- Successful completion of British Swim School Swim Instructor internal training

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool.
