We are a high quality, community-based swim lesson school looking for amazing educators to join our team. We are a tiny business but our big mission is to make swimming accessible for all people.
Our program is different from most swim schools- We offer affordable low-cost lessons and multicultural work environment with multilingual communication and instructing. We teach survival skills with trauma-informed practices and a play-based curriculum.
No swim experience is required- we prefer hiring educators and we are happy to teach you all aquatic skills, including how to swim if you are not currently able.

These positions are part-time. While our busiest season is March - September, we do have a few year round positions available for the right candidates.

As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members. You should be someone who welcomes feedback and is a continuous learner. As a swim instructor you will report to the Deck Supervisor or Site Supervisor during shifts and provide support throughout the pool deck as needed.
We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves teaching and being around water. We offer paid training. This is a part-time position that requires afternoon/evening and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety of all swimmers
- Love and respect students while teaching them to swim.
- Be a team player who is who is consistently dependable and reliable.
- Complete required training and be a continual learner.
- Follow our curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities and comfort of each student.
- Maintain a friendly attitude and inspire your swimmers and families.
- Set-up and break down your work space
Qualifications:
- Caring and compassion for infants, children and adults
- Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 5 hours
- Strong communication skills
- Great attitude and willingness to be coached
- The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to commit through October 1, afternoons and weekends required
- Bilingual/multilingual applicants (any combination of English, Spanish, Portuguese) are preferred (other languages welcome!)
Certifications: Note that we have multiple certifications required for this position, many of which can be completed during training. Some certifications will be paid by Safe Swim and some certifications will be paid by you after hire. We can make arrangements to prepay for instructor paid certifications if you need help covering costs upfront.

Compensation: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
