Job Description:
Waterworks is seeking an HR Coordinator who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting HR operations. This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their expertise in human resources, benefits administration, compliance, and HRIS management.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Coordinator provides administrative support in HRIS data management, ADP Workforce Now onboarding, benefits administration, workers' compensation claims, leave of absence (LOA) processes, and compliance tracking. This role serves as the first point of contact for employees on HR-related inquiries, ensuring timely assistance and accurate record-keeping.
Additionally, this position supports open enrollment, workplace safety initiatives, and HR compliance efforts while maintaining a clear separation between payroll processing and HR data entry.
ACCOUNTABILITIES (Includes primary job duties):
- Maintain accurate employee records by managing HRIS data entry, onboarding, job changes, and separations in compliance with company policies.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for employees regarding benefits, leave of absence, workers' compensation, and general HR inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Assist in benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, while supporting open enrollment initiatives.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation claims by gathering necessary information, tracking case progress, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Manage LOA requests and process associated paperwork, ensuring compliance with FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and company policies.
- Support HR compliance efforts, including file audits, reporting, and ensuring all documentation is complete and legally compliant.
- Assist with safety initiatives by monitoring required safety training and compliance efforts.
- Ensure HRIS records remain accurate, working closely with payroll and HR teams to support data integrity.
- Assist in distributing policies, tracking acknowledgments, and ensuring required sign-offs are completed and recorded in employee files.
- Additional duties as assigned may include:
- Recruitment Support – Assist in the HR Admin team with hiring by screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Training & Development Coordination – Help organize training sessions, track participation, and support employee development initiatives.
- Performance Review Assistance – Support the performance review process by preparing necessary documentation and tracking employee progress.
- Employee Engagement & Events – Assist in organizing employee engagement activities, wellness programs, and workplace events.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in HR administration, benefits coordination, or HRIS data management.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now required.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Understanding of HR policies, benefits administration, workers' compensation, and LOA procedures, primarily related to California employer/employee laws.
- Excellent data accuracy and recordkeeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer service mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail) and Slack.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
